Welcome to, and thank you for visiting, The Foresters website. Our Scout Group was formed in 1974 and is part of the Burton on Trent District. Our title is 11th Burton on Trent, The Foresters. We were formerly known as Yoxall and Kings Bromley but as our group has grown we now take from several more of the local villages and so changed our name to reflect this.

We are one of the largest Group in our district with well over 100 young people who regularly attend the weekly meetings. We have two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs and one Scout Troop and all the sections meet in St. Peters School, Yoxall. The sections are supported by around 20 voluntary leaders, assistants and helpers.

On our website we aim to provide the latest information about the Group. On our events pages are some of the things planned for the sections and also dates of our fundraising events.

Every year the Scout Troop join an international camp in the summer. for the summer camp in 2011 we went to America, our first venture abroad. We had the most fabulous time, although the fundraising for it was quite tough! In 2014 we went to Belgium and we plan to return to America again in 2018.

Our favourite method of raising funds is by using the easyfundraising site when you shop online. Click onto the page to find out more about this initiative. We also run a 100 club, click on the link for further details. Both can be found by clicking on the fundraising bubble on this page.

All details of our camps, trips, term activities etc. can be found in the secure ‘parents info’ section.

Every two or three years we hold a family camp which is an opportunity for mums, dads, brothers and sisters to all camp together and take part in a huge range of activities with a Barn Dance on the Saturday night. Our next one is scheduled for September 2017.

If we have whet your appetite and you would like to find out more about our Group either as a young person to join a section or as a potential helper, please complete the form on the ‘contact us’ form and we’ll get right back to you.
